It was another year of uncertainty in business as the COVID-19 pandemic continued. Business owners know they can’t predict what 2022 will bring, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do their best to plan ahead for a successful year.
Here are 3 things to do:
1-Review your profit loss statements so you know your numbers.
When you work with a bookkeeper or use online software like QuickBooks to manage your business finances, it’s important to know exactly how much money your company brought in and what expenses were incurred. It is also important for you to file taxes early next year- this will help not only identify your most and least profitable revenue sources, but it will also help prepare you for filing taxes early next year.
2- Pinpoint professional development opportunities so you can identify areas for growth
Identify your company’s needs and do some research on what skills would be helpful to the success of your business. This can be done by examining other businesses that are successful in order to see how they accomplished their goals, then perform this same process for yourself. Growing team skills can help propel your business forward!
3-Set your company goals for 2022
After you have mapped out these goals, break them down into action steps. These are then broken down further by milestones throughout each month of the year. Meet with your team at least every quarter to talk through progress and make sure everyone is on the same page in terms of what they want from this new year and how it will affect their life going forward.
