The exhibits at the Canadian Automotive Museum feature some impressive racing cars, including one of Michael Schumacher's Benettons from 2004 (the year he won his 4th Formula One Championship) and the McLaren M23 of James Hunt, who won the 1976 World Championship. If you are interested in cars then this museum will be right up your alley!
3. Get Some Culture at the Art Gallery
The Canadian Automotive Museum has an on-site art gallery that features works by Oshawa artists and sculptors. The art gallery is open Wednesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Admission is free of charge, but donations are accepted.
4. See Some of the World's Greatest Motorcycle Engines
The Canadian Automotive Museum has a motorcycle exhibit that features some impressive engines, including the first engine ever developed for a motorcycle. This engine dates back to the early 1800s and was developed by Sylvester Howard Roper in Boston, Massachusetts. The Canadian Automotive Museum has many different styles of motorcycles on display from all over the world, so you will probably recognize at least a few!
5. Participate in Educational Programs
The Canadian Automotive Museum offers educational programs for children and adults to participate in. Programs range from 1 hour to all-day events, so there is sure to be something that fits your needs. Some of their other programs include game show nights, workshops, photographic scavenger hunts, and more! They also host special events every month which you can learn more about on their website.
6. Look at Old Ads and Classic Cars
The Canadian Automotive Museum's exhibits show advertisements from vintage magazines as well as old cars (including a 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, a 1958 Corvette, and a 1960 Chevrolet El Camino). If you want to look back at car ads and classic cars from the past, then the Canadian Automotive Museum is the place for you!
7. Take Your Picture with a Huge Tire
The Canadian Automotive Museum has a huge tire on display that you can take pictures with. This is a great opportunity to get a fun and unique souvenir from your visit to the museum. Be sure to smile for the camera!
