6 Steps to A Successful Estate Plan
Our firm works closely with you and your financial advisor to do effective estate planning. We also offer in-house consultation with Goals Based Financial Inc. who would be pleased to consult on full financial matters with you.
Estate Planning by Goals Based Financial Inc. consists of six steps that financial planning professionals use to consider all aspects of a client’s financial situation when formulating financial planning strategies and making recommendations.
Step 1 - Relationship Building
This is the first stage of our planning process where we interview you and get a better understanding of your goals to create a plan that meets those needs. We also provide background information on what we do in the industry and will help prepare an initial plan. We will check to see whether you wish to be offered a full plan or focus on one particular area of financial planning. We first have an agreement that is drawn up in writing and then signed by both parties, after which any conflicts of interest are disclosed.
Step 2 - Gathering Information
When gathering data we require that you, the client, identify your personal and financial objectives, needs and priorities that are relevant to the depth of the engagement. We will collect sufficient quantitative information and correlate documentation about your priorities before making or implementing any recommendations
Step 3 - Analyze & Evaluate
It is important that we take the time to analyze and evaluate your information in order to gain an understanding of your current financial situation. In doing this, we will assess the strengths and weaknesses of your current financial situation and compare them to your objectives, needs and priorities.
Step 4 - Develop & Present
We will consider one or more strategies that are relevant to your situation to ensure we develop a plan that meets your objectives, needs and priorities. We will present the plan with supporting rationale to allow you to make an informed decision about its implementation.
Step 5 - Implementation
Once our advisor and you agree on a plan, we will implement this plan. We will review the necessary steps and time frame in which it will take to complete the transition into the most suitable financial plan for you.
Step 6 - Monitoring
We work hard to define and mutually agree on the terms of review and re-evaluation of the plan. Through the review process, we will identify any changes that may be required and recommend new plans accordingly.
So, if you are in need of an estate plan let's set up an appointment.
